First Aid at Work Renewal

  • From: £165.00 +VAT
  • 2 Days
  • FA2

Introduction

Course Outline

This course is for holders of a current First Aid at Work qualification which is due to expire, or where candidates would like to refresh and update their first aid aid knowledge, and revalidate their qualification for a further three years.

If someone has previously held the First Aid at Work qualification but it has expired, please consider the following rules for attendance…

  • A First Aider can renew their FAW qualification by attending a two day renewal course without question, if it’s within one month of the expiry date.
  • If the First Aider has lapsed by more than one month, but no longer than three months, they can requalify by attending a two day course providing ‘special considerations’ have been applied (see below).

Special considerations are…

  • A signed letter from the employer to Edenfield stating the reasons why in their opinion, the First Aider is suitably experienced to attend a two day course and does not require a full three day FAW course; or
  • A decision is made by Edenfield after discussions with the employer, or the First Aider, and deciding that their previous experience is sufficient to attend a two day course.

If the First Aider has lapsed beyond three months then they must attend a full three day course.

The important thing to remember is that as soon as the certificate expires, the First Aider is no longer considered competent to act as a First Aider in the workplace which may leave the employer with a shortfall in first aid provision. Therefore, it would be prudent to arrange their requalification before they expire.

Who this course is for:

A maximum of 12 learners are allowed per instructor and must be a minimum of 14 years of age. An individual cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role. The qualification will expire as dated on the certificate, irrespective of age.
