Introduction

This course is for candidates to develop the practical skills and knowledge to:

  • prepare, three phase mains wavecon / waveform
  • prepare, complete three phase wavecon / waveform straight joints
  • prepare, complete three phase wavecon / waveform branch / breech joints
  • prepare, complete three phase wavecon / waveform pot ends

Materials

Candidates are required to provide the necessary materials for all cable jointing courses. We will issue a materials list for candidates. Alternatively we can provide materials for customers at an extra cost.

Who this course is for:

Individuals or clients nominated persons who are required to work on Wavecon / Waveform Mains Cables.

Candidates must have completed an LV1 – LV Live Jointing Course, Single and Three Phase Services successfully.

Course aim:

At the end of this course delegates will be able to demonstrate:

  • An ability to complete LV Mains joints live

At the end of this course delegates will understand:

  • Safe working techniques
  • Live Working Techniques
  • The correct use of tools and equipment

What you'll learn:

The candidate will:

  • Understand and demonstrate personal safety including the basics of on-site safety requirements, hand tools, resins and personal hygiene
  • Evaluate electrical test results and demonstrate the use of instruments
  • Demonstrate they can complete a Wavecon mains straight joint
  • Demonstrate they can complete a Wavecon mains straight joint with crossed cores
  • Demonstrate they can complete a breeches joint – Wavecon mains cable three-phase
  • Demonstrate they can complete a pot end – Wavecon mains cable three-phase – single-phase service connection
  • Demonstrate they can complete a cut-out termination – Wavecon mains cable – three-phase
  • Demonstrate they can complete Wavecon sheath repairs

Certification:

Candidates will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance and Report to provide evidence towards competency.
