C & G 2391 Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations

Initial Verification, Periodic Inspection & Testing qualifications from City & Guilds

The course delivery for Inspection and Testing, and / or Periodic Inspection and Testing. On successful completion the qualification is the City & Guilds 2391.

To be a Fully qualified Inspector & Tester you need the 2391-52:

2391-52 Level 3 Award in Inspection & testing.

The training programme is five days Monday to Friday.

Then by appointment Assessment on day six and seven i.e. Monday and Tuesday the following week.

Content includes:

Safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations

Requirements for initial verification of electrical installations

Requirements for completing the inspection of electrical installations prior to their being placed into service

Requirements for the safe testing and commissioning of electrical installations

Requirements for testing before circuits are energised

Requirements for testing energized installations

Requirements for the completion of electrical installation certificates and associated documentation

Safety of systems and equipment prior to completion of inspection, testing and commissioning

Inspection of electrical installations prior to them being placed into service

Commissioning electrical systems and equipment

Aim

Persons who require evidence of their competency to demonstrate competence for initial inspection and periodic inspection of electrical installations.

A 2391-52 qualification is currently required in order to gain your JIB grading as an approved electrician. There are initial (2391-50) and periodic (2391-51) qualifications available but you can save time and money with our combined 2391-52 course. The course has been introduced to streamline and simplify the qualifications required to carry our advanced inspection and testing.

This new qualification only requires 1 online multiple choice exam, 1 written assignment and 1 practical assessment.

Participants

Persons who require evidence of their competency to demonstrate competence for initial inspection and periodic inspection of electrical installations.

Electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training before going onto other City & Guilds qualifications.

The qualification is also suitable for those with limited experience of initial inspection and periodic inspection of electrical installations, such as those entering the industry from other engineering disciplines or who have been working in allied trades
