The IOSH Working Safely course helps workers ensure that their actions contribute to health and safety in the workplace, as well as ensuring that individual responsibilities are clearly understood. The course will assist workers in complying with the requirements of health and safety, and alert them to co-operate with managers in safety activities to improve the organisation’s safety performance.
The course is aimed at operative level and is designed to be equally valid across all industry sectors.
Course Content
Key modules of the IOSH Working Safely course include:
- Introduction for working safely
- Defining hazard and risk
- Identifying common hazards and controls
- Improving safety performance
Each delegate will be issued with a workbook to assist them both during and after the course which will contain information, guidance and forms to assist workers. The course is designed to be interactive, allowing delegates the opportunity to develop their skills with the support of the course tutor.
Aim
To make employees, at all levels, aware of their responsibilities for safety toward themselves, colleagues and others affected by work activities.
Participants
Anyone – and everyone – in a working role who wants to learn the basics of safety and health.
Certification
At the end of the IOSH Working Safely course, delegates are required to undertake a multiple choice assessment and complete short risk assessment style activities.
Those who successfully complete the assessments at the end of the course are awarded an IOSH Certificate in Working Safely.
