Live Working Techniques – Intrusive Testing Of LV Cables Course

The Live Working Techniques & Intrusive Testing of Low Voltage Cables is designed to enable the candidate to understand jointing principles and live working techniques.

The candidate will gain experience of working on live low voltage pvc cables and the safe use of tools or equipment. For the purpose of proving the cables live or dead.

This is not a course to learn how to joint cables together, this course has been designed to facilitate highway projects and the requirement to safely open potentially live PVC Low Voltage electricity cables.

Materials
Candidates are required to provide the necessary materials for all cable jointing courses.
Alternatively we can provide materials for customers at an extra cost.

Course Content

PVC Cable
Split Concentric PVC Cable
Removal of outer sheath
Proving live or dead
Reseal / Joint box enclosure of area opened
Safe live working techniques commonly used in the industry
Use of insulated tools and equipment
Safe use of resin – for sealing joints

Aim

To enable candidates to work safely opening Low Voltage Cables and understand the safe use of tools and equipment.

Participants

Individuals who require knowledge to understand how to work on low voltage cables using live working techniques and use tools safely.

Certification

Candidates will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance and Report to provide evidence towards competency
